極限音樂巨匠菲利普．格拉斯(Philip Glass)，和「搖滾樂界的拜倫」、加拿大籍詩人歌手李歐納．柯恩(Leonard Cohen)，兩位當代最重量級的藝術家醞釀多年，首次以柯恩2006年發表的詩畫集《渴望之書》為名，掀起跨界合作的話題。格拉斯以六年的時間，為柯恩 的22首詩譜曲，運用四位歌者與小型樂團的編制，融合柯恩過去20年來的插畫投影，成為一場文學、視覺與音樂相互交合的盛宴。

The system is shot身體已傾毀矣
I'm living on pills我生活倚靠藥丸
For which I thank G-d因此我感謝上帝

I followed the course我沿路前行
From chaos to art從混沌到藝術
Desire the horse慾望是馬
Depression the cart沮喪是車

I sailed like a swan我似天鵝優遊
I sank like a rock我如石塊沈落
But time is long gone可是時光悠悠荏苒
Past my laughing stock我累積的笑聲已沒

My page was too white我的紙太白
My ink was too thin我的墨太淡
The day wouldn't write白晝不願記載
What the night pencilled in黑夜寫下的名言

My animal howls我的野獸在嘶嗥
My angel's upset我的天使亂了心
But I'm not allowed可我不被允許
A trace of regret留下丁點的悔恨

For someone will use因為有人將擷取
What I couldn't be我無能成為的自己
My heart will be hers我的心將屬於她
Impersonally此事已注定

She'll step on the path她將步上那小徑
She'll see what I mean她將明白我所言
My will cut in half我的意志對半分
And freedom between而自由夾在中間

For less than a second再過不到一秒鐘
Our lives will collide吾等生命將成交會狀態
The endless suspended無盡成懸念
The door open wide心門已敞開

Then she will be born這時她將誕生
To someone like you為了某個神似的你
What no one has done沒人做過的事
She'll continue to do她將繼續做矣

I know she is coming我知道她要來了
I know she will look我知道她會訪尋
And that is the longing那就是渴望
And this is the book這就是書本

註：柯恩習以G-d代替God。為避免上帝（God）之名在形諸文字書寫後，遭人抹除、破壞，或塗改，虔誠猶太教徒會在書寫時，刻意將其改寫為G-d。
