尼爾西達卡(Neil Sedaka)獻給約翰藍儂(John Lennon)的歌曲－〈移民〉(The Immigrant)

1971年，約翰藍儂(John Lennon)和小野洋子離開英國移居
美國紐約。同年，他們參與平反社運詩人約翰辛克萊(John
Sinclair)遭受政治迫害的演唱會，加以時值美國深陷越戰
泥沼，約翰藍儂又帶頭反戰，因而成了尼克森總統與聯邦調
查局(FBI)情報頭子胡佛的眼中釘。希望他返回英國，別再
與美國政府作對。往後幾年，藍儂不但電話遭到竊聽跟監，
移民局還不斷找麻煩，千方百計要撤銷他的居留簽證。藍儂
與移民局打了多年官司，終於在1976年拿到綠卡，取得美國
的永久居留權。遺憾的是，四年之後藍儂卻在這塊他極力維
護自由、公義、和平的國度被槍擊身亡。至於藍儂為何要移
居美國，有一說是因披頭四(The Beatles)拆夥，藍儂與洋子才
會赴美發展。另一說則是指稱因為英國稅負過重，藍儂為了
要避稅才移民美國。

尼爾西達卡(Neil Sedaka)的父親是早年由俄國移居紐約的
猶太人，因此尼爾西達卡深知移民的甘苦。1975年，西達卡
完成了〈移民〉(The Immigrant)一曲，由詞曲搭擋菲爾寇
迪(Phil Cody)填詞，將這首歌獻給與美國政府奮戰約翰藍
儂(John Lennon)。

David Leaf與John Scheinfeld於2006年執導的紀錄片《與美國政
府對幹》(U.S. Vs. John Lennon) 就完整客觀的呈現那個白色恐
怖的年代約翰藍儂與美國政府之間一連串的理念角力與政治對抗。
