〈當我需要你〉(When I need you)是1977年李歐塞爾(Leo Sayer)演唱的冠軍單曲，隨著搖擺的散拍晃動，流露藍調的相思哀訴。此歌創作者為知名詞曲拍擋卡洛貝耶賽格(Carol Bayer Sager)與艾伯特漢蒙(Albert Hammond)，他們合寫過〈絕妙的愛情〉(A Groovy Kind Of Love)、〈離洛杉磯 99英里〉(99 Miles From LA)、〈我的氣息〉(The Air That I Breathe)、〈南加州從來不下雨〉(It Never Rains In Southern California)等名曲。沒想到卻因此曲前幾個小節，被控抄襲李歐納柯恩(Leonard Cohen)於1971年出版〈名牌的藍風衣〉(Famous Blue Raincoat)，被指抄襲的副歌部分如下：

李歐納柯恩(Leonard Cohen)於2006年接受《環球郵報》（The Globe and Mail）專訪時表示：「有人代我控告他們，而且還真的達成和解，雖然，他們請了一位音樂學者作證，主張這是屬於公共領域的特定主題，而且最早可以追溯到舒伯特(Schubert)。」雖然，這是兩首風格層次明顯不同的歌曲，〈名牌的藍風衣〉晦澀內斂，〈當我需要你〉坦白奔放，卻因深情的旋律有幾個小節雷同，卡洛貝耶賽格與艾伯特漢蒙也只能花錢達成和解。
整首歌曲最迷人之處就是下列這段，李歐塞爾將這帶有即興藍調興味的樂句，詮釋的深情奔放，讓人難忘。
「I just hold out my hands我只要伸出手
And I'm with you darling親愛的，我就與你同在…」
全曲歌詞中譯引自安德森之夢，僅就下列兩處略作修改：「旅行(traveling)改譯為漂泊」，「只是一個心跳的距離
