這首由加拿大美聲天后羅琳娜麥肯尼特(Loreena McKennit)詞曲演唱的〈優伶之舞〉(The Mummers' Dance)，選自《神秘之書》(The Book Of Secrets)專輯。該專輯是她為了紀念一位在航行中遭逢意外的密友，表達永不遺忘的思念和追憶所作。羅琳娜麥肯尼特(Loreena McKennitt)不僅歌聲渾然天成，擅長豎琴及鋼琴，更能作詞作曲將古詩歌與傳統音樂相結合，是一位講故事的高手。她的作品以凱爾特(Celtic)樂風著稱，有時亦融入中東音樂的元素，焠煉出東西交流的世界音樂新風格。〈優伶之舞〉將古老的故事與傳說伴著層次分明的音樂與多元極緻的樂器音色，再加上她那空靈夢幻卻具穿透力的聲音娓娓道來，讓你全然放鬆徜徉在自然優雅的神秘國度，有著神奇的心靈療效。

一開始所欣賞的現場演唱版本是2006年羅琳娜麥肯尼特在西班牙阿爾罕布拉宮的查爾斯五世宮殿(Palace of Charles V, in the Alhambra, Granada, Spain)的演出，配器包含了卡龍琴(Kanoun)、烏德琴(Oud)、絞弦琴(Hurdy Gurdy)、愛爾蘭風笛(Uilleann Pipes)及手鼓(Bodhrán)、里拉琴(Lyra)以及大小提琴、手風琴與電子合成器等跨越東方與西方以及傳統與現代的樂器。就如同查爾斯五世(Charles V)拆除部分阿爾罕布拉宮的建築，改建一座以自己的名字為名的宮殿，要跟伊斯蘭建築互別苗頭，也使得這座以伊斯蘭文化為基礎的城池同時有著文藝復興的風格。

羅琳娜麥肯尼特的聲音極富張力，在激情中顯現出理性的克制，清醒內斂，不刻意煽情，具有感染心靈的力量，讓人沉溺不已。〈優伶之舞〉(The Mummers' Dance)最先讓人注意到的是風笛在遠方隱約延綿，隨風緩緩而來，鼓聲接踵而至，推著人們跟隨著優伶(雜耍特技藝人)的舞蹈前進，終夜在林間漫步。羅琳娜麥肯尼特的吟唱伴隨著層次分明的小提琴、大提琴與各式民族樂器的樂音，彷彿織成一個網，將聆聽者完全籠罩。
