玫瑰玫瑰我愛你

〈玫瑰玫瑰我愛你〉是三、四十年代被人譽為音樂才子與「歌仙」的陳歌辛(筆名林枚)於1940年的創作，由吳村作詞，由姚莉演唱，為電影《天涯歌女》插曲。〈玫瑰玫瑰我愛你〉用2/4拍的捧恰、捧恰輕快節奏，跳起曾風靡一時的吉力巴舞(Jitterbug)時別過癮，成為夜總會中的熱門名曲。
1951年，美國歌手弗蘭基萊恩(Frankie Laine) 將〈玫瑰玫瑰我愛你〉改成英文版的Rose Rose I Love You翻唱，在美國迅速走紅，曾高居排行榜第三名。英文版的歌詞由英籍新聞特派員韋恩福特佛漢湯瑪斯(Wynford Vaughan Thomas)所寫，意境與中文版截然不同。中文歌詞典雅優婉，以玫瑰比喻紅顏雖苦命，對愛情與人生卻執著堅強以對。英文歌詞則是以直接的手法，描繪一名老外必須與鍾愛的東方姑娘Rose分離的傷心故事，但是曲風卻是非常輕快灑脫。
